LAMB of GOD

 LAMB of GOD

Many years ago an Evangelist was cycling through a small in Norfolk in England. He suddenly felt that God was urging him to shout out - Behold, The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

The Evangelist did so although he could see no-one.

Six months later he was in the village once again. He goes from house to house to tell the good news of JESUS CHRIST.

At one house he asked a woman if she had any assurance of forgiving her sins. She said,  "She accepted JESUS as her Redeemer recently."

"How that happened?" asked Evangelist. One day a man shouting on the road, "Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world."

She was given the assurance that her sins had been taken away and forgiven.

The Evangelist was astonished and praised God.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

SCRIPTURES -

We believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of the Bible preserved perfectly in KING JAMES VERSION.   The Scripture is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice.

SOVEREIGN GOD God is a Person, eternally existing as a Trinity in unity? Father, Son, and Holy Spirit?three Persons and yet but one God. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; I Corinthians 8:6)

SON Jesus Christeternally existing, is the only begotten Son of God, Who became a man totally apart from sin, being conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, and is true God and true man. (Luke 1:30-35; John 1:1-15; Philippians 2:5-8; Colossians 1:15)

SIN Man was created in the image of God but fell through sin, bringing not only physical death but also spiritual death?separation from God. Now all mankind is totally depraved, having inherited a sinful nature; is bent toward sinning; and has become sinful in thought, word, and deed. (Genesis 1:26, 27; 2:16, 17; 3:6-19; Romans 3:10-23; 6:23)
SALVATION - Man is lost and must be born again to enter the Kingdom of God. Salvation is by grace alone through personal faith in the finished work of Christ on the Cross. (John 1:12; 3:3-7; Ephesians 2:8,9)

SERVICE - The local church is a group of believers baptized by water; banded together for edification, exhortation, and evangelism as commanded by Christ in the Great Commission; preaching the Gospel to every creature. (Mark 16:15; I Corinthians 12:12; Ephesians 1:22, 23)

SECOND COMING - The Lord Jesus Christ Himself is coming again in the air at any moment to catch up His Church and to reward their service. The unbelievers left behind will go through a period called the Tribulation, after which Christ shall return visibly to the earth to set up His Kingdom of one thousand years of righteous rule. After this the unbelievers of all ages will stand at the Great White Throne to be judged and cast into the Lake of Fire, separated from God forever, while the believers spend eternity in the fullness of joy in Heaven with the Lord. (Matthew 24:29-42; I Thessalonians 4:16-18; Revelation 19:11-20:15)

POWER OF PRAYER

Some one said, "You will never get a busy signal on prayer line to heaven." Prayer is our direct line of intimate communication with the Creator. Prayer is talking to God. God wants us to talk to Him about everything that is going on in our lives. We can pray at any time and converse with God. Prayer is God's way for us to obtain what we need from Him (Luke 11:3-11).

James, an apostle and servant of the Lord Jesus Christ admonishes us, "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."(James 5:16) and further He shows us Elijah , a great man of prayer, and a man subject to like passions as we are, He prayed earnestly that it might not rain, and it rained not on the land by the space of three and six months. He pleaded the Lord again. The Lord answers  his prayers and the heaven gave rain and earth produced its crops.

On one occasion D.L.Moody of Chicago needed six thousand dollars for the work they were doing in for the Moody Bible College. A group of believers along with him gathered in a room and put the matter in the presence of God and beseeched the Lord with faith, quoting the promise in John14:14, "If ye shall ask any thing in my name , I will do it."

After they completed their prayer there was a knock at the door. A man came and gave telegram. "Mr. Moody, we had a feeling, you need money for the work in Chicago. We have taken up a collection and there is six thousand dollars in the basket and more to follow."

It was said, the telegram came nearly from one thousand miles away. God answered their prayers. Let us come boldly unto the throne of grace to get mercy and find grace in time of need. The God who answered the prayers of Elijah and D.L.Moody will answer our prayers too. Our Lord Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and for ever.

MIGHTY GOD

MIGHTY GOD

Isaiah , the major prophet of the Old Testament , nearly 800 years before the birth of Jesus Christ, prophesied and introduced Him , "His name is called Wonderful, Counselor,  MIGHTY GOD,  Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9:6)
The word mighty means 'strong and powerful'. The Hebrew word for God is 'El', which means Almighty or Mighty One. When the two word are put together , they mean strong and powerful One- the Mighty One.

Moses , the great leader of ancient Israel who led the people from Egyptian bondage refers to "The Lord your God is the God of gods and the Lord of lords the great, the Mighty." The Lord led them from the bondage of slavery. He was mighty in deeds. He did marvelous things in the sight of their fathers in the land of Egypt.

He parted the Red Sea and paved the way to pass through and made the waters a heap. He led them with a cloud at day time and night with a light of fire. He rained Manna upon His people in the wilderness. He sent quails to satisfy their hunger. He brought the streams out of the rock and caused the waters to run down like  rivers. He smote the rock and water gushed out. He quenched their thirst. He is able accomplish whatever He desires.

Is there any thing too hard for the mighty God ?. The Psalmist says, "The Lord has done mighty things for us ."

Nehemiah refers to Him, "....the great and mighty and the awesome God , who keeps covenant of love."(Nehemiah 9:32)

Apostle Paul says, "When the fullness of time was come God sent forth His Son."(Galatians 4:4). He was born neither of the blood nor of the flesh, nor of the will of the man but was born of God. He became flesh and dwelt among us.

During His earthly ministry He did mighty things in the lives of the people to whom they sought. He healed the sick, and suffering ; the sorrowful and dying and the broken-hearted . He did miracles and signs and wonders.
"The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy." Let us draw nigh to the Lord Jesus Christ who will mighty things in our lives.

JESUS CHRIST , COMPASSIONATE GOD

        JESUS CHRIST , COMPASSIONATE GOD

Someone said, "Compassion is a desire to reach out and make a difference in the life of someone else."

A banker had turned a man down for a loan, then made an unusual offer. He said to the man, "I have one good eye and one glass eye. If you can tell me which is which, I will approve your loan." The man looked for moment, then said, "Your left eye is your good eye."

The banker was surprised. "That's right," he said. "How could you tell?" The man said, "I detected a hint of compassion in the other eye."

Compassion is sharing the feelings of others and possessing a desire to help them in their trouble.

When we read the Gospels, they tell of Jesus and His great compassion for mankind. We see that our Savior is deeply moved in His inner being by the needs of those around Him. A brief study of the Gospels reveal the truth that His compassion knew no boundaries. Jesus felt the need of all classes and kind of people.

He revealed Himself in hundreds of ways in the Bible as Sovereign God, Gracious God , Holy God, the Lord of hosts, God of all comfort and God of compassion.

Our Lord Jesus used two illustrations to teach the need for compassion- The parable of Good Samaritan -Luke 10:30-37, and the parable of the prodigal son- Luke 15:11-24 .

At Jericho He had compassion on two blind men sitting by the wayside , and touched their eyes, and immediately their eyes received their sight (Matt 20: 30-34). Seeing a great multitude near the sea of Galilee, Jesus moved with compassion and healed their sickness (Matt 14:14).

He felt compassion towards others. Unlike the people of the world , Jesus cares more for our lives. When He saw the people scattered abroad as a sheep having no shepherd, He was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted.
Jesus felt compassion when He saw the people who were suffering. He healed the sick, cleansed the lepers, raised the dead and casted out devils.

The Lord taught us compassion by giving all He had and said,"Go and do likewise."

Let us heed the teachings of our Lord Jesus.
